How to Oil Cleanse
Oil cleansing is a gentle and effective method for removing impurities, makeup, and excess oil from your skin while maintaining its natural moisture balance.
Here’s a simple guide to oil cleansing using Abyssinian Oil:
Materials Needed:
Abyssinian Oil (In a pinch you can use Extra Virgin Olive Oil to remove the dirt, but finish with Abyssinian. Most people find EVOO too thick, but if you are camping or traveling it will still make you feel much better :)
Clean Towel: A soft, clean cotton washcloth. (oil may not fully come out, so this is a dedicated face-washing cloth now)
Hot and Cool Water: For cleansing and rinsing.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Wash Your Face with Hot Water:
Start by rinsing your face with hot (98-106°F) water only. This helps open your pores and prepare your skin for oil cleansing.
Rub a liberal amount of Abyssinian Oil all over your face, avoiding the eye area. The combination of water and oil effectively cleanses your skin without harsh chemicals.
Soak a clean towel in hot water, then wring it out until it's damp but not dripping.
Use the hot, wet washcloth to scrub your face gently. This will remove the oil that has trapped all the dirt and gently exfoliate your skin.
Rinse your face again with hot water to remove any remaining oil and impurities.
Finish by rinsing with cool water to close your pores.
You can add a bit more oil at this stage if your face is too dry from the hot water.
Natural Ingredients: Abyssinian Oil and water form a natural cleanser without harsh chemicals or that waxy feeling of detergents.
Effective Cleaning: This method effectively removes dirt and impurities.
Exfoliation: The process also provides gentle exfoliation for smoother skin.
Once you have oil cleansed, you will never go back! Enjoy the refreshed, clean, and nourished feeling of your skin.
