Julia’s Essentials 100% Abyssinian Oil (Aby) is a natural seed oil from the Crambe Abyssinica plant. We always extract it from the seeds using pressing, never using solvents or heat. Our beloved Aby is filtered to make it light and easily absorbed.

The most exciting characteristic is its barrier protection! It gets this from the three main naturally occurring unsaturated fatty acids (all omega's) that work on hair, skin and scalp. This makes it resistant to oxidation even at extremely high temperatures. It easily protects hair from high heat (Blow Drying, Curling Irons exc.). This is also how it controls moisture and protects skin and hair from losing too much moisture in low humidity environments (winter, hospitals, airplanes) and prevents frizz and acne in high humidity.

There are also unique characteristics of each individual Omega fatty acid. The high percentage (59.5%) of Erucic acid found in Julia's Essentials 100% Abyssinian Oil has a comedogenic rating of 0 which means it won't clog pores making it suitable for all skin types. With its exfoliating properties, it helps reduce acne along with many other skin conditions. The Linoleic acid stimulates hair growth and maintains a healthy scalp environment. The Oleic acid makes your hair softer and more pliable. On the skin and scalp it reduces inflammation so they can heal faster.

Note: Inferior dark colored Abyssinian does not have a comedogenic rating of 0. Pore clogging plant matter and other heavy contaminants have not been filtered out.
